Please remind your child that silliness will not be tolerated during Zoom. Thank you for helping me with the reminders of behavior on Zoom, because the students were amazing during the sessions!

Attend the assigned Zoom class on 5/19 (Tues.) dressed as the historical figure. Dress-up and use props.
If you have a favorite recipe to share with the class that your person enjoyed or was a favorite food during the time period he or she lived, send me an email with the recipe and put RECIPE in the subject line.
Zoom time will be 9:30 on Tuesday. You may log on at your designated time below or stay for everyone’s presentations. I’m giving a tentative schedule to log on because this could be lengthy.

Writing assignment for an autobiography
Parents and students, please read and view the following FIRST:
Preparation for the autobiography:
Watch the recorded Zoom session of Mrs. Gagliano explaining and clarifying the directions. I will post the recording after the 1:00 session on 5/18.

Complete the graphic organizer to help you brainstorm ideas!
Print the booklet and write paragraphs to answer the questions.
Use the direction pages to help formulate answers.
Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in the booklet.
Write in cursive writing!
Upload the finished booklet to Google Classroom.

5. Autobiography booklet: print this after the brainstorming graphic organizer is complete
After the booklet is printed if it will not print correctly with back to back, improvise and lay each page down like this: cover sheet face up, next page face down, third page face up, fourth page face down, and continue in this manner until all 10 pages are laid down correctly. Fold into a booklet.
Take the Reading Growth Measure by May 21 on the HMH site. Read carefully, answer the questions without help. This tells your fourth grade teacher your level and helps her to place you into reading groups.

Continue with practicing division in chapter 13.
Complete 13.1, 31.2, 13.4, 13.5, and 13.6 in PW. (13.3 is optional)

b.) complete the “know the product of two one-digit numbers” by timing yourself. There are 24 problems. Can you answer them correctly in 90 seconds?
Reflex assignment: Complete 20 minutes each day to keep up your fact fluency!
FACT FLUENCY is a vital math skill that you will need for the 4th grade. It should continue throughout the summer too.

Complete page 218. THIS IS NOT THE TEST. It is a review for Chapter 18 test which you will take in Google Classroom on Thursday or Friday.
Optional activities: Make an I’m sorry card. Sometimes it is hard to say that you are sorry for something you’ve done wrong. Make and decorate an I’m sorry card! Write I’m sorry on one side of the card and Please forgive me on the other side. When you need forgiveness, hand the card to the person you are asking forgiveness from and then say I’m sorry for what I did. Maybe other family members will use the card too when they need forgiveness!

What kind of tree have you chosen? If you did not tell me your species of tree last week, please do so.
Go outside and look at the budding leaves. Take a picture of the bark and buds if you can to help you identify the tree. Research the tree on World book or a similar site. Use this information to correctly draw the buds and bark for this week’s picture of your tree and write the correct species of tree on the page.
