School Counselor Resources
I have lots of resources available and will continue to add them here. Please reach out if I can connect you with them, support you, or chat with any student even if not on my caseload. The overarching principle is to keep a schedule, ideally like the school day. This sets into motion regular bedtimes, meals, taking medications on schedule, and exercise. With structure, predictability, calmness and less anxiety can occur.
-Encourage your children to reach out socially, even if for brief reconnects to peers. Think about reinforcing activities that builds your child's self-esteem while on the look-out for new ones.
-Consider using this new found family-time to try different rituals i.e. game-time after dinner; mid-afternoon walks, or trying a new recipe. This makes a positive out of this challenging time and that we came out resilient when it is past.
