CLASS CURRICULUMReligion: Christ in Us
We will learn about the sacraments, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We will learn in depth about Advent, Lent, and the Easter season. Each class participates in All Saint's Day activities, Mass, and Stations of the Cross.
Math: McGraw Hill-Reveal Math & Math Simple Solutions
We will concentrate on multiplying, place value, shapes, subtraction, regrouping and borrowing concepts, and addition. Simple Solutions math is a separate, daily practice book for mastery in mathematical concepts in telling time, measuring, and learning basic facts.
Students also participate in First in Math and Reflex during class and at home. Language Arts: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt & Grammar Simple Solutions
Units of Study include reading various texts every week, comprehension skills, vocabulary focus, and learning to write responses to stories, create poems, and participate in Reader's Theater activities and plays. Simple Solutions grammar is a daily practice for instruction in nouns, verbs, pronouns, contractions, adverbs, adjectives, and proper punctuation.
Science: Lab Learner (Mrs. Chardo)
Units of Study will focus on Ecosystems, Properties of Matter, Electricity, and the Human Body. We will investigate science concepts further by participating in 6 STEM projects within our Lab Learner science room.
Social Studies: (Mrs. Kline)
Units of Study will include famous people, popular world events, and cultures. Students will create a biography lap book, learn to read maps, and experience cultures through foods, music, and media.
