A little about me...
Mrs. G
Teaching Background:
My name is Betsy Gensemer and I would like to welcome everyone to another exciting school year at SJA.
I have been teaching at SJA for the past 17 years. Previous to SJA I taught both 3rd & 5th grades at Catholic Schools in both Harrisburg and Reading, Pennsylvania.
I am a graduate of Millersville University with a teaching degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. I received my Elementary Education Certification from Alvernia College. I also hold a Pennsylvania Instructional II License and my Advanced Religious Certification from The Diocese of Allentown and Harrisburg.

Personal Background:
I have been married to my best friend, Stephen for the past thirty one years. We have two wonderful daughters , Allison and Sara. We moved to Hershey eighteen years ago and are members of St. Joan of Arc Parish.

Personal Interests:
I love to read, walk my dog, listen to music and spend time with my family. I love sports and frequently cheer on both the local and professional teams. Being originally from Philadelphia, I am a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles!

6th Grade Social Studies Course:Geographical Terminology, Studies of Countries by Physical, Historical and Cultural Themes, Government and Economic Structures, and Current Event Topics.
7th Grade Social Studies Course: Focus on Early American History, Explorers, New Colonies, Foundations and Settlement of our Nation, Government and Economic Structures, and Current Event Topics.
8th Grade Social Studies Course: United States History from Civil War to Present Day. Emphasis on major events in United States History from 1840's until today. Economic, Social, and Technological Innovations. Biographical Study of people who contributed greatly to American History, Current Event Topics.
