Chapter 1 - Understand Place Value (Ones to Hundred Millions) We work on comparing numbers,ordering numbers and solving word problems using logical reasoning. Chapter 2 - Add and Subtract Whole Numbers We work on rounding numbers through the millions, estimating sums and differences, add and subtract 3 and 4-digit numbers and solving word problems using the skill Estimate or Exact Answer Chapter 3 - Use Addition and Subtraction We work on learning the addition properties, writing and evaluating expression and adding and subtracting equations. We also solve word problems using the strategy Work Backward. Chapter 4 - Multiplication and Division Facts We work on relating multiplication and division, multiplying and dividing facts through 12 and solving word problems using the skill Choose and Operation. Chapter 5 Use Multiplication and Division Facts We work on the multiplication properties, Multiplication and division expressions, order of operations and solving word problems using the strategy predict and test. Chapter 6 Time and Temperature We work on telling time, elapsed time, elapsed time on a calendar, changing units of time, temperature, explore negative numbers and solve word problems using the skill sequence information. Chapter 9 - Multiply by 1-digit numbers We learn mental math and how to multiply 1-digit to 4-digit numbers and multiplying with zeros. We also learn to solve word problems using the skill evaluate reasonableness. Chapter 10-Multiply by 2-digit numbers We learn to multiply 2-digit numbers by 2 and 3-digit numbers and how to solve word problems using the skill multistep problems. Chapter 11 - Division We learn to divide with remainders, estimate quotients and how to solve word problems using the strategy Draw a Diagram. Chapter 12 - Practice Division We solve word problems with the skill interpret the remainder, divide 3-digit numbers and money and divide with zeros. Chapter 13 - Divide by 2 digit divisors We estimate quotients and solve word problems using the skill too much/too little information Chapter 14-Number Theory and Patterns We work on factors and multiples, divisibility rules, prime/composite numbers and solving word problems using the skill find a pattern. Chapter 15 - understand fractions and mixed numbers We learn to read and write fractions, model equivalent fractions, compare and order fractions, read and write mixed numbers, compare and order mixed numbers and solve word problems using the skill sequence information. Chapter 16 - add and subtract factions and mixed numbers We work on solving word problems using the strategy write and equation and adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Chapter 17 - Understand Decimals and Place Value We learn to relate fractions and decimals to the thousandths, relate mixed numbers and decimals and solve word problems using the skill draw conclusions. Chapter 18 - Add and subtract decimals and money. We learn to round decimals, estimate sums and differences, make change and solve word problems using the strategy compare strategies. Chapter 19 - lines, rays, angles and plane figures We learn about points, lines, rays, how to measure and classify angles, line relationships, polygons, how to classify triangles and quadrilaterals, circles and how to solve word problems using the strategy compare strategies. Chapter 20 - Motion Geometry We learn about congruent and similar figures, turns and symmetry, transformations and how to solve word problems using the strategy act it out.
